This is Kelli and Tanor. They contacted me for their Utah engagement photography session last month. They are getting married in Louisiana in July, so this is the only session we had together. They are so fun and I wish them the best! Aren’t they photogenic? We had a great time on this shoot! Tanor even answered me when I called him the wrong name 47 times!

This is Marcos and Paislea’s wedding at Sleepy Ridge! I was so excited when they contacted me for their Utah wedding photography! This couple is so fun, and Sleepy Ridge is a BEAUTIFUL venue for a wedding. What a great combination! Check out how great her red hair is too! You might recognize Marcos and Paislea from their engagement session from a couple of moths ago. As a fun aside, when I showed up to start shooting her wedding, I walked into the brides room and the hairstylist was Cara Williams, who happens to be my husband’s first cousin’s daughter. Does that make her my second cousin once removed? I have no idea. It was fun to run in to her though!

Utah Bridal Photography

When I got a phone call last week to see if I could take some Utah bridal photography ASAP for this couple, I wasn’t sure I could squeeze them in for a session this month. Is now a good time to mention that my husband had an unexpected trip to Dallas for FIVE weeks? Oh, yes, and my school semester at AAU doesn’t end until the 18th of May, so I’m in the throws of finals for my classes as well. So, I’m a single mother for the next three and a half weeks (my husband has been gone about 10 days so far) and I have 10 weddings just during the five weeks my husband is gone! For those of you who don’t know if that is a lot, or a little, just keep in mind that most photographers try to shoot between 20-30 weddings a year. I have 10 in the month of May. I love what I do so much, that it’s really, really hard to not shoot! I have several bridal and engagement sessions this month (and a newborn twin session next week! It will either be double the fun or double the trouble!) so I will try to post as often as I can to share these beautiful session with you! Fortunately, I hired a part time nanny to help me with my kids (I have a five year old and a three year old) so that has been WONDERFUL. Honestly, I don’t know how I’ve survived this long without one! She only comes when I’m physically out on location shooting, so that means extra late nights for me this month working, and my kids are watching more TV than I would normally approve of, but they think I’m the greatest mom ever!

This is Jennifer and Kyle, who are getting married on a day that I am already booked to shoot another wedding, so I only got to shoot their bridal pictures. (This is the time when I wish I could clone myself. It really is hard to not be everywhere at once!) They are gorgeous (OBVIOUSLY!) and I’m so glad they contacted me for their Utah bridal photography session! I photographed Jennifer’s sisters wedding last year. Will | Utah Senior Portrait Photography

This is Will, a 17 year old high school senior who can grow a full beard. He makes other grown men question their manhood! I was excited when his mom contacted me for his Utah senior portrait photography session. He is quite photogenic (as you can see below!) and I have fun working with him. This is Mandy and Jason. You might recognize them from their engagement session last month which you can find here. I was so excited when they decided to have their Utah Bridal Photography session at Thanksgiving Point! It truly is one of my favorite places to photograph! We shot these images during the tulip festival and everywhere you turn, there is another beautiful spot to take pictures! We had beautiful overcast skies and it rained on us twice (there is always some adventure during a photo shoot!) so needless to say, we had a lot of fun!

Everyone needs a little Mandy in their life, she is hilarious! I’m so happy for this couple and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next week! Check out their video at the end!

Newspaper Dress | Extreme Fashion

This “Newspaper Dress” is the latest dress I’ve created for my concept project of “Extreme Fashion” for my class at AAU. Let me tell you, this dress was a labor of love! I’m beginning to think you can create almost anything with paper (any kind) clamps, and packing tape! This dress took almost five hours to design and make. Add the newspaper backdrop, and this set took six hours to make. One day I will have an art director, a stylist, and a full time assistant! For now, I’m a one man band! This is my friend Michelle, who you might recognize from the paper bag dress shoot and balloon dress shoot we did a few weeks ago. She is a rock star and waited patiently while I created created the top of this dress on her. Nothing like creating on the go! We did take a few shots with just the newspaper skirt, but quickly realized that it was killing the picture to not have a top! So, like any live mannequin, she stood there while I created a top and VIOLA! Check it out!

Amy + Cole Wedding | Utah Wedding Photographer

This is Amy and Cole. They hired me as their Utah wedding photographer for their wedding in April. We have had such wonderful weather this winter and spring, it was a shock to everyone that is snowed on their big day! Regardless, it was a beautiful wedding, and as usual, I cried during the ceremony. The wedding was held at Le Jardin in Sandy. Amy and Cole make a great couple! Congratulations to them! Dan and Kimber | Utah Engagement Photography

This is my younger brother Dan, and his fiance Kimber! You might recognize Dan from the shoot I had with him and three little girls last summer. You can see that shoot here. It was fun to photograph someone I know so well for their Utah engagement photography session! We shot these at the Orchards in Provo. We scheduled this shoot when the blossoms would be at their peak and it was gorgeous! You will be seeing more of these guys in the next few months! I’ll be shooting their bridals and their wedding day as well!

Extreme Fashion, Box Dress and Umbrella Levitation

Extreme Fashion, Box Dress and Umbrella Levitation. I’ve always wanted to create an image where an umbrella carries someone away . . .

I created a box dress for my “Extreme Fashion” project at AAU. This “dress” took hours to construct and make, so I still have it in my garage. I couldn’t rip it apart after all the sweat and tears that went into it! You might recognize Katherine, my model, from some previous shoots. Not only does she babysit my kids from time to to time, she assists me on some my shoots (specifically weddings) and she models for me as well! She’s a great friend to take on a road trip and she knows how punchy I can get when I don’t have enough sleep!

I have shoots lined up every day this week. Wedding season is in full bloom I tell you! On top of that, I’ll be shooting for Provo Craft all day, for three days this week as well! I’m pretty sure my right eye is going to be twitching by Sunday.

I may not have time to post again this week, but I’ll be back soon with lots of great shoots to share with you!

Ashley + Lloyd | Utah Engagement Photography

This is Ashley and Lloyd, and I was excited when they selected Daybreak as the location for their Utah engagement photography session! Everywhere you turn in Daybreak, there’s another great spot to shoot. As per the usual this winter and spring, the weather has been unseasonably warm, so we were happy to be shooting in 70 degree weather.
